School Supply List - 2022-23

School supply list for 2022-23

 

The following items are recommended for Westwood students for the 2022-2023 School year.

**Chromebooks are becoming more and more used in classes at both the Jr & Sr High levels. It is not a requirement, but it is recommended that students have their own to assist them with daily classroom needs. Earbuds would also be an asset.

The school will provide Chromebooks for any assessment that will be used during classes.

 

Grades 7-9

  • 1 Binder
  • 3-4 Packs of lined paper
  • 1 Pack of graphing paper
  • 1 Pack of dividers
  • 1 Pack pens in blue or black ink
  • 2 Red pens
  • 1 Pack of pencils
  • 1-2 White gum erasers
  • 1 Plastic ruler
  • Pencil Crayons
  • Flag style post-it notes
  • Highlighters in at least 4 colours
  • A scientific calculator

 

Gym StripWe recommend that every student have a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, a pair of sweatpants, a longer sleeved shirt or hoodie and a pair of indoor running shoes.

 

Students may also purchase Westwood clothing from our online store. It is not required that students purchase Westwood clothing for their gym strip.

  • White gum eraser
  • Pencil Crayons
  • Flag style post-it notes
  • Highlighters in at least 4 colours
  • Students taking math will also need a graphing calculator. We recommend one of the following:
  • TI-83
  • TI-84 Plus CE Standard Edition
  • TI-nspire

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
